Adam and i have restarted visiting libraries (observing social distancing and other safety protocols). we’re hopeful that in the coming months, we’ll be able to ramp activities to our pre pandemic level. hopefully, you’ll continue to follow us and support the libraries we all love so well!. It was cool to hear not only about norwell but also about other library projects on the horizon (don’t worry, no spoilers). one thing that was really interesting about the visit and about conversations with others around library land is the continued recognition of libraries as social spaces. how soon until the new norwell public library. That’s what is was like to walk into the wellfleet public library on a recent visit. we arrived on a monday afternoon and the library was abuzz. before going into detail on this lovely library as it is today, there’s something to be said for the space itself. the building dates from 1931 and originally was a curtain factory during the 1930s. During our visit, the library was fairly active with a few people sitting reading the news, a couple of job hunters, and others simply browsing. it’s a comfortable and beautiful building that is totally worth a visit. library land score: 4.00. as we got back into the car, we realized that several of the libraries we planned to visit were closed!.
