Men's health month. throughout june, men’s health month aims to encourage boys and men to take charge of their overall health by implementing healthy living decisions. this year, as the country has been impacted by the covid 19 pandemic, it is crucial that men get regular checkups and be aware of the risks for their age, ethnicity, and lifestyle. Three times as many men as women die by suicide. men aged 40 to 49 have the highest suicide rates in the uk. men report lower levels of life satisfaction than women according to the government’s national wellbeing survey. men are less likely to access psychological therapies than women: only 36% of referrals to nhs talking therapies are for men. Men and women can develop most of the same mental disorders and conditions but may experience different symptoms. some symptoms include: anger, irritability, or aggressiveness. noticeable changes in mood, energy level, or appetite. difficulty sleeping or sleeping too much. difficulty concentrating, feeling restless, or on edge.
